Animals Eating the Alphabet

Written by: Jade Greene-Grant and Barbara Magnotta

Illustrated by: Amber Krueger

Age Range: 3 years +

Page Count: 31

What to expect: A book to teach young readers not only their letters, but the sounds those letters make as well!

Is there an animal that begins with each of the 26 letters of the alphabet? How about a food that begins with each of the letters? This book does just that and so much more!

As a reading specialist, I always look for a book that I can pull into my literacy lessons. This is a great one for phonemic awareness, which is the way we recognize and manipulate sounds. One of the very first skills, that can be done way before reading takes place is, identifying the first sound in a word. This book is a great resource for that skill! Reading through the book and emphasizing those sounds, is a great interactive activity with the children. Every early elementary teacher as well as parent, should have this book on their bookshelf!

I would give this book 5/5 Warrior Stars!
